Quality Coordinator – Accreditation Project

Part-time (0.6FTE), Fixed-term to 30 June 2019

IDHS is due to undergo two external re-accreditation audits in the first half of 2019:

  • National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS) re-assessment between 5th-7th March
  • Residential Aged Care re-accreditation between end March and end June (this will be an un-announced visit)

We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Coordinator to join our team to provide advice and support to managers, staff and clinicians on all facets of accreditation and quality improvement activities to ensure successful accreditation outcomes for IDHS.

Key selection criteria                  

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant accreditation frameworks and expected outcomes, including but not limited to:
    • National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS)
    • Australian Aged Care Accreditation Standard
    • Department of Health and Human Services Standards, Victoria
  • Knowledge and experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of quality activities and processes
  • Demonstrated skills in managing a number of projects concurrently, with varying timeframes and workloads
  • A strong understanding of patient centred care and a commitment to patient safety
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data from a variety of sources and develop clear reports and plans
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with a wide range of people and groups
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software programs

Registered Nurse


IDHS is currently seeking caring and enthusiastic nurses who are committed to helping residents, patients and clients achieve life-long health and wellbeing in an environment that respects each individual’s rights, needs and choices.

Key selection criteria

  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Victoria
  • Understanding of the concept of person centred care
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a clinical role in the Acute, Urgent Care and Aged Care environments and apply contemporary knowledge and evidence based practice
  • A commitment to the process of quality improvement and accreditation
  • Demonstrated high level of inter-personal skills with the ability to effectively liaise with patients, clients, the community, service providers and other agencies
  • Commitment to a team approach and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, including report writing skills
  • A preparedness to engage in precepting/coaching students and new staff
