Health Care Workers Traineeship

Through our partnership with CVGT Group Training, IDHS offers a Health Care Worker Traineeship Program. This, program provides a supportive onsite training program to achieve a qualification as a Health Care Worker.

In compliance with the Safe Patient Care Act (Nurse to Patient Ratios) Amendment Act 2019, IDHS roster nurses according to the below table:

Level 4 hospitals

(1) The operator of a level 4 hospital must staff an acute ward as follows:
(a) on the morning shift
(i) one nurse for every 6 patients;
(ii) one nurse in charge;
(b) on the afternoon shift
(i) one nurse for every 7 patients;
(ii) one nurse in charge;
(c) on the night shift, one nurse for every 10 patients
